OUR PROFILE.

ANT Industrial Design was founded by Chris Gadway. A constant student of global consumer culture: Chris has an acute awareness of the contemplative and reflective relationship between global design, and contemporary life. Chris has immersed himself in a carefully chosen, if eclectic selection of experiences. Nearly 20 years of creation experience spanning fashion, travel, and high-tech give Chris a unique perspective on global consumer culture. A brand creation expert and a gentleman craftsman: a desire to create products of beauty, and cultural significance drive Chris' work.



GLOBAL CEATIVE DIRECTOR : NIKE EQ 2005 - 2008

Chris played a key role in brand building and creative strategy for Nike EQ, as well as high-level, multi business-unit integrated collection creation. During his time with Nike EQ, Chris' creative stewardship directly contributed to double-digit year upon year revenue increases, expansion into new key markets (most notably: Tokyo & Paris), as well as placement in key global influential retailers including: Collette-Paris and Beams-Tokyo.



PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER : ANT 1999 - 2005

The Ant Brand was originally founded as a high-function, high-style collection targeting style conscious young professionals. The first Ant offering was a carefully crafted collection intended for a handful of key retailers. Ant became a cult favorite in New York and Tokyo and could be found at retailers such as Barneys New York, and Ships Tokyo. The success of the Ant brand garnered the attention of the Japanese trading giant: Itochu International. Itochu became business partner to Ant in 2001 and brought funding as well as operational excellence to the brand. The collection expanded, and distribution also expanded to high-end specialty chains and department stores including Isetan-Tokyo, Bloomingdales, and Urban Outfitters.



1993 - 1999

Chris "cut his teeth" at some of the most respected product creation agencies in the world, including: Frog Design, and Pentagram.
